    Maybe because the left side of the brain is more developed. That's why we write with the right hand and we get a glowing left eye. It's science!

    i've met more people who are right-eye dominant, so maybe it's because the left eye of a character facing you is on the right side of the page, closer to your dominant eye...but i dunno...good question.
